Sandra Jean II
One of Port Townsend Shipwright Co-op‘s longest standing clients, Nancy and Pete Hardy, brought their Canadian trawler, the Sandra Jean II, in for new steel fuel tanks this spring. Both Nancy and Pete Hardy are captains for whale watching business in Friday Harbor. They have been gradually restoring the Sandra Jean II for the past 12 years. During this time, the Shipwrights Co-op has done extensive planking, reframing, bulwarks, deck work, deck and beam repairs. Pete and Nancy have kept to the vessel’s original trawler design. Both actively participate in the restoration project and live aboard the Sandra Jean II. They documented the recent fuel replacement project well with great photographs, saying they “really enjoy being …in the company of these craftsmen and messing with this boat.” Thanks Nancy and Pete for sharing these wonderful photographs!
